History

Toxandria was founded on July 5th 1928 by the visionary Mr. Charles Stulemeijer. The course was officially opened on September 14th 1929 featuring nine holes. Course architects were JF Morrison and H. Colt. In 1937 the course was expanded to a full 18 holes, enhancing its reputation as a premier golf destination.

Golf Club Toxandria

Toxandria is the oldest golfcourse in the South and is ranked among the top 5 best courses of the Netherlands. With a history of over 95 years Toxandria is celebrated as one of the best classic, iconic courses of the Netherlands located in the scenic forest of Breda.

The course provides a fair, yet challenging golf experience, making it a favorite among both amateur and professional players.

Roberto de Vicenzo

In 1950 Toxandria proudly hosted the first Dutch Junior Open, when Roberto de Vicenzo from Argentina won the tournament.

17 Years later he won the Britsh Open. Later, in 1965, The Dutch Open was played for a second time at Toxandria.

The Dutch Junior Open

The Dutch Junior Open has been played at Toxandria since 1984.

Many US PGA, European as well as Asian Tour professionals have participated in this tournament, making it a vital part of the club’s storied history.
